Item rules

Ask for things you want for yourself, your family, or as a gift, in normal personal quantities. Bulk orders and stock for resale are not what PorterBee is for, and using it that way is your own legal problem, not ours.

Everyday over-the-counter items are fine in personal quantities: vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition, and the sort of health and beauty products sold openly in any US shop. Anything that needs a prescription, or that is sold as treating a condition, is not.

• Drugs and controlled substances, including cannabis in any form, and drug paraphernalia
• Prescription medicines beyond a documented personal amount for yourself
• Anabolic steroids, peptides and SARMs
• Nootropics, sexual performance products, and anything sold as a treatment or a cure
• Weapons, firearm parts, ammunition, explosives, fireworks
• Flammable, pressurised or hazardous goods, loose batteries and power banks
• Chemicals, pesticides and industrial substances
• Tobacco, cigarettes, e-cigarettes and vaping products
• Alcohol and pork
• Live animals, plants, seeds, soil and fresh food
• Ivory, furs, and anything from an endangered or protected species
• Drones, satellite phones and radio transmitters
• Adult or obscene material
• Cash, gold and jewellery
• Counterfeit or pirated goods
• Stolen goods
• Anything needing a licence, permit or registration to import
• Anything you did not buy yourself and have not seen inside

This list is not complete, and it is not a customs guide. The laws of the United States, the destination country and every country on the route decide what is actually allowed, and they control.

Every airline and every country has its own rules, and they change. Check your airline’s rules and the destination’s rules yourself. PorterBee does not advise on customs, duties, taxes or device registration, and cannot tell you whether an item will be let through.

We introduce two people, and Trustap, our payments partner, holds the money until the item is handed over. We are not the carrier, importer or exporter, and we never hold your money ourselves. We never see, hold or inspect an item, we do not check whether anything is legal, and we are not liable for what anyone chooses to ask for or to carry. A request being live is not our approval of it.

We may remove the request and act on the account. We are not obliged to spot anything. These rules sit alongside the Terms of Service, which govern if the two ever disagree.
